Forecasters have said there is a small chance that a tornado could develop in parts of Southern California during the current winter storm.

A tornado warning was issued for much of Santa Cruz County at 12:19 p.m. Christmas Day. The warning lasts through 1 p.m. Locations covered by the warning include "Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, Capitola, Live Oak, Soquel, Opal Cliffs, Twin Lakes, Aptos, Felton and Day Valley," the warning read.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch in Birmingham on Thursday, Dec. 18, from 5:07 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.. This warning applies to Fayette, Greene, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston counties.
