The Electoral Commission of South Africa says 62 new political parties have been registered since last year’s general elections. As a result, the IEC is hosting a workshop for them, as well as for parties that are registered but currently hold no seats in any legislature. South Africa now has 508 registered political parties. JUST IN … The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has given independent candidates 24 hours to submit their signatures, after their submissions were rejected on Wednesday. The independent candidates who submitted their nominations were Ally Angula, Jeremiah Kaambo and Elsie Chen. The reason behind the move is yet to be explained.
